about

One of my favorite instruments that I used is the Korg Wavestation.
It enables playing possibilities and sound structures that would otherwise not be possible. What is special about this instrument?
It is the possibility to use a Wave-Sequence.
A Wave-Sequence is simply a list, according to which one or more oscillators play certain individual sounds one after the other. A specific period can be assigned to each individual sound and controlled by pressing a single button. Similar to the song function of most rhythm machines, which only consists of a list of patterns played in sequence, a wave sequence is a song that consists of sounds. The result is a constantly evolving waveform that creates very complex sound structures and enables targeted sound changes over time or dynamically. Track 11 is a short isolated Wave-Sequence as demonstration for your interest.

For this songs I used next to the great KORG WAVESTATION also the following instruments: Akai S-950, Kawai K4-R, Korg EX8000, Roland JX-3P, Roland JV1080, Yamaha TX802

In 1985 I bought my first Synthesizer with a drummachine and I made my first own music... ... more
